School Songs

Wrote few poems to be used as school song.

1)
Carry on today
Carry on ur own
Carry on the way
Carry on alone

Keep dreams high
Hope to fly
Never sigh
Climb the stones

Carry on the way
Carry on alone

Keep your smile
Aim much high
Courage never lies
Success is grown

Carry on the way
Carry on alone

2)
Its a beautiful day
To dream for tomorrow
Its a beautiful day
To learn for today

Giving me wings to fly
My school soars me high
Its a beautiful day...today

Create on my own
Yet feel never alone
Its a beautiful day...today

3)
Learn for today
Learn be bright
Learn and enjoy
Learning is life

Learn be happy
Learn all sights
Learn and smile
Learning is Life

4)
Carry on your head held high
Carry on your knowledge light
See a dream but never sigh
Carry on your wings to fly

Carry on with all your strength
Carry on with energy all spent
Let your hopes never dent
Carry on your eyes ascent

Carry on its never too late
Carry on you'll have to mate
Sometimes you'll fall for mistakes
Carry on whatever it takes

Carry on even on your own
Carry on far from home
Paths will have many stones
Carry on today, carry on alone

Final version:

It’s a beautiful day
To dream for tomorrow
Its beautiful day
To learn for today

Carry on today
Carry on your own
Carry on the way
Carry on alone

Giving me wings to fly
My school soars me high
Create on my own
You feel never alone

Carry on today
Carry on your own
Carry on the way
Carry on alone

Keep dreams high
Hope to fly
Never Sigh
Climb the stones

Carry on today
Carry on your own
Carry on the way
Carry on alone

Keep your smile
Aim much high
Courage never lies
Success is grown

Carry on today
Carry on your own
Carry on the way
Carry on alone

Learn for today
Learn be bright
Learn and enjoy
Learning is life

Carry on today
Carry on your own
Carry on the way
Carry on alone

Too Many Viral Videos

With women security going out of the window
nowadays - internet is full of people talking about
different court cases. Many viral videos have
emerged too- stand up comedy, poetry, rap,
simple question and answer session.
What I fail to understand are these viral
video makers seriously interested in the issue
or are they just looking for their "15 minutes"
of fame. Because some of the videos (I repeat "some")
seem so forced and time consuming- after watching
I was like 'We already knew that.'
Believe me I being a woman am totally in for
"fighting our rights" and "demanding security"
but why "rap" about it?
Who is going to watch it?  [some of the videos are 30 mins long]
Instead it would be better if we took simple
steps while travelling - helping our
female co-passengers in buses or trains if
they feel vulnerable. Looking out if we see any
strange behavior of male or female with a child.

On a lighter note, I would
like to mention the site
marry.induja.com where the Bangalore
girl so assertively pointed out how
She is of so called "marriageable age"
and yet she will not follow any preconceived
notions of marriage.
She needs a Partner and not a "Master".
Go girl- That's more like it!

PK is not "Oh My God"

Decided to write this post because I am tired of hearing the line
"PK was just like Oh My God"
which is actually analogous to saying
"Every love story is like DDLJ"
As its not.

I am briefly going to describe the lessons in PK but before
that the major difference between "OH My God" and "PK"-

Moral of the story in "Oh My God"
- Believe in the creator and worship him but not the created who sell in his name.

Moral of the story of PK
- All human beings are equal.

Yes you heard it right; that is the moral of PK and just to prove this point the director had to
introduce religion as well which led to the comparisons. This post is not to glorify the movie
or to hurt religious sentiments. It is simply my perception since I found the movie to be
"Well made".

Lesson 1:
How dressing sense makes inequality prevail.
PK wore a “lehenga” in the beginning as he didn't know it was a lady's dress- and he
wore all kinds of clothes including an inspectors which led to people giving him
stuff for free. Does it not show how different dress sense divides us? If people
from the beginning of time tried to keep it simple- the hard core ones won't
be raising objection on female dress sense. Also in these scenes the director
introduces the corruption angle by showing cops taking "advantage" of locals.

Lesson 2
What is the Value of Gandhi ji.
As his pic on a Rupee gets him food , PK thinks the man's pic is valued;
but it is not. In a way director tries to prove the point that Gandhiji's
picture valued only on money but neither is he thought about or practiced
in the way he should be.

Lesson 3:
How a child is born without any name, religion cast- but humanity imposes it.
PK goes into the hospital and checks babies just to know how they  know
what is their religion but finds there is no "mark"- way of showing
the differences amongst us are all in the mind.

Lesson 4:
Different religious activities that hurt the humans would never be demanded by God.
PK cross questions Guru on why God would send such an old man to a tedious journey
for well being of his wife - when God is defined as ever loving and merciful.
In away signifying human sacrifices and human hurtful practices (like "zanjeer ka maatam" for Muslims shown in the movie) would never be something God would want from us.

Lesson 5:
Boundaries and countries divide us- but we are all the same.
Sarfaraz and Jaggu are from different countries, different religions even different castes
 - but look at life the same way; have the same interests and want to spend their life together. But Jaggu does not even give him a chance to explain in the movie (expecting betrayal);
showing sub consciously the "differences “get ingrained too deep inside us.

Lesson 6:
Old people should be valued.
PK knows the old man lied to him to get the money for bill paying of
restaurant and yet he gives it to him. In a way it shows a compassion
which normally we don't have but we should for the elderly.

Lesson 7:
God does not need "our" protection.
Those who terrorize and kill in the name of God saying they are doing this
to protect their "God" are entirely wrong. A God which created a galaxy full
of million stars and billions of life forms could never be protected by
a being which is not even size of dust for Him. He would never want
"violence" and that too in his name- after all he is a "CREATOR".

Lesson 8:
The big deal about s*x being a taboo.
PK discusses the topic with as much zest as he talks about all others.
Isn't it time we do that with the next generation as downfalls
of not doing it at the right time are too much?

Lesson 9:
Love doesn't necessarily mean "possession".
PK loves Jaggu and yet is big -hearted enough to let her be;
as it is unrequited love. Not many we meet in life understand
that or the acid attacks in our country would have ceased long time back.

Lesson 10:
Question everything in life- don't follow the herd.
Just because he comes from another world- PK questions
everything about love, religion, politics, but we
humans never do. We take it what ever we are born with
or is imposed upon. If you practice something-
shouldn't  you question why you do it?
We need to be prepared for
answering the questions of our next generation
which is already showing signs of immense curiosity.

There might be more but these were the ones that stayed with me.
Maybe you can comment more on what it preached to you.
