Sleep Lost its Luster

As his cries wake me up,
in silence just before dawn,
Dishevelled hair, irritated walk,
In his cradle, I peep down

His big eyes open wide and
he starts staring into mine,
My heart feels a joy unnamed
Like after rains, a bright sunshine

I pick him up to hug him tight
Forgetting sleep instantly for myself,
My son is happily in my arms,
There's no need for anything else.
