Sleep Lost its Luster

As his cries wake me up, in silence just before dawn, Dishevelled hair, irritated walk, In his cradle, I peep down His big eyes open wide and he starts staring into mine, My heart feels a joy unnamed Like after rains, a bright sunshine I pick him up to hug him tight Forgetting sleep instantly for myself, My son is happily in my arms, There's no need for anything else.

A Farewell Poem for someone else

Well I still have friends in my old company and someone asked me to write a last day poem for him. Since my sister always scolds me for not writing down my poems in a proper way; I thought I should post this on my blog. Who knows it may be of use for someone again someday :) Joning Infy was really a dream come true, The Dream company of millions the reality of few, Working in an environment that provided lessons many, Working with talented people helping me when problems any, But just as all good things have to come to an end, My journey in Infosys can no longer be sustained, So here I bid goodbye to all of you dear friends, May Life always treat you well, may joys in your life Never End!

A Shared Childhood

Background: I have two younger sisters and we all three are totally different in every way. And yet sharing the same childhood makes it easy for you to guess what the other person would do in a certain situation; what she might feel; how she might react. The days we spent together were never valued by us at those moments but now as I look back, I know we all cherish each and every moment of the life we spent together. This poem is dedicated to my two sisters who love me a lot...and yes you guessed right, I love them too. I remember when we together took the morning bus to school, I remember how we spent childhood days both hot and cool, We had many disagreements and of course several fights, We spent days without talking or sharing life bites, Yet some days we were really the best of friends, playing together continuously like there was no end, Making a snowman and then posing for snaps, Laughing hysterically, talking without gasps, Gifting each other desired presents on a birthday, s...

A Beautiful New Year

Every new year brings hope... The hope of starting all over again. The hope of rectifying past mistakes and the hope of not making new ones. Our new year eves were always celebrated with parents and siblings; watching TV; counting 10..9..8 as the clock struck midnight, hugging everyone while shouting Happy new year and finally hanging a new year calender just after midnight, something me and my sister had made kind of a custom. As we grew up, our new years continued to be celebrated this way till we left our home. I wonder if my children would be ever satisfied with celebrating such a simple new year, one that does not comprise of new year parties, fireworks or socialising with a so called "Elite" society. The best thing of living a simple life is the contentment experienced. Living 2 years without a television just because I wanted to buy it when I bought my own house was quite an experience. I never planned it, it was something I just did and my husband supported me. Someti...

Do we need to Grow up once again?

Listening to a very nice song today from 3 Idiots. "Give me some sunshine, Give me some rain.. Give me another chance, I want to grow up once again" Lyrics of the song are beautiful and plead for a life that was unlived...desires unfulfilled and dreams unrealised. Many people in this world might be able to feel the dilemma expressed in the song. Luckily I am not one of them as after listening to it, I thought whether I want to grow up again. No...not really; in fact if given a chance I would like to grow up just the way I did, make the same mistakes, meet the same people, befriend the same people and yes even love the same ones. There is a quote which I remembered, "If God put all the troubles of the world in one big heap and then asked us to choose one for ourselves, we would still end up choosing the one we have now." There might be tough situations in every life, but haven't they always taught us something. Even the people who hurt us teach us a lesson o...

A Beginning for a New Role of Life

Suffering from nausea in the mornings and the nights. Not liking any cooked food. Fruits and juices acting as my survival kit. Also chaats and snacks. Every now and then, heartburn occured as well. Totally confused about what suits me and what not. Finally the appointment day came; the doctor's cabin opened and I lay down. As the ultrasound was done; I saw it... I saw the head, I saw the arched back and I saw the shape that was to become feet. The feeling made me cry, the feeling of having a baby inside me; my baby finally within me. It was beautiful, and I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. You always hear other people talk about the way the feel in such a state but you have to be actually experiencing the joy to understand it. In fact, journey full of diffulties still has to be made and this is just the beginning; yet with the prospect of gaining something too precious makes all the pain and the troubles worthwhile.
