These are good times in my life.
Having a ball with my husband and son.
But coincidently, two of my friends are having very bad time in their life.
One of them related an incident wich happened to her and that
actually led me to rewind my memory and think about something
which happened 3-4 years ago.
I had joined Infosys as a fresher and I got allocated to a new city.
I made many friends there.
One girl who became a very close friend of mine, confided in me one day.
She told me she was a divorcee and now that I was such a dear friend to
her she wanted to share her story with me.
She then proceeded to tell me how she was tricked into marrying
an insane person. A sadist who threatened her, tortured her
and most importantly, had once left her at midnight alone
on the street, far away from home.
Though she told me lots of other things, the one about leaving her
at the streets at midnight haunted me for a very long time.
It was such a scary thought.
Flash forward to the present.
A very good friend got married few years ago.
The guy is handsome, decent and from a well to do family
and working in a very nice company.
Every marriage has its share of fights and they had theirs too.
But in a recent one, he just dragged her to the car, drove
almost out of town and in a forest area. Then he took all
her credit cards, money, mobile, forcefully away and
left her alone in the middle of the woods.
The good thing was that instead of meeting a serial killer or
rapist, my friend was able to make a call to a relative
from a good samaratin's house.
The bad thing is she will still spend the rest of her
life with a person who actually acted horribly insane.
In the first case I was sure about the guy's sanity
as it was later medically proven as well.
But what should be the excuse for the man in the second case?
What should he be considered?
Sane ... or Insane?
The thought just comes to mind...
Was the insane pretending to be sane, or is the sane actually insane?
